New Delhi:

Veteran actor Sathyaraj finally apologies for his controversial comment on Kannadigas after a massive protest staged by Pro-Kannada organisation activists in the city on Thursday against the Tamil actor who essays the character of Kattappa in 'Baahubali 2'.

Apologising for his comment made nine years back the Tamil actor said his comment was not against Karnataka and his motto is to continue speaking for the welfare of Tamil people even if he does not get work in the industry.

The movie had previously received threat to be banned in Karnataka and was said to be allowed to hit the silver screens of the state only if actor Sathyaraj apologies for his controversial comments made 9-years ago on Kannadigas and the vexed Cauvery water issue.

Supporting Tamil farmers demanding Cauvery water at a demonstration in 2008, actor Sathyaraj was quoted in the media saying, "Tamils should not be like a tree which stands silently as any dog comes and urinates on it".

Hence, 'Baahubali' fame Kattappa has given only 8 days to apologies to ensure the Karnataka release of 'Baahubali: The Conclusion'.

According to the activists the screening of the movie without an apology would be a big blow to the self respect of Kannadigas.

Led by veteran Kannada activist and former MLA Vatal Nagaraj, dozens of pro-Kannada organisations also threatened to shut down the state capital on April 28 as a sign of protest and also willing to ban all Tamil films all over the state.

"Tomorrow we will burn his effigy and day-after, we will block the highway connecting the two states at Attibele", Nagraj was quoted while interacting to a leading daily.

Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli, the director of the film took to twitter to make an emotional appeal to allow a smooth release of the movie considering the hard works of all other members of the cast who have given their days and nights to make the film happen.

"Preventing the film will not cause Sathyaraj any loss. Targetting the film because of one actor is wrong", the Telegu director further added.

Responding to Rajamouli's statement, Nagaraj said, "We have nothing against the film or its crew. I am told that it is a very good film. All we want is for him to apologise. The man compared Kannadigas to dogs. How can we keep quiet?"

However, Now we can finally expect an easy smooth release of the second installment of 'Baahubali' in Karnataka as Sathyaraj took that instant step to secure a healthy market of the 28th release in the state.
