New Delhi:

The past few weeks have been an eye-opener for many. Many women have spoken about the atrocities they have faced in the hands of powerful men and many such stories have been shared over social media where women have garnered up the courage to talk about how they have been harassed by such men. Names such as Rajat Kapoor, Aloknath, Subhash Ghai, Bhushan Kumar have cropped up.

Among a host of other notable names, to name a few, but can it be called a true movement till any of the superstars or megastars of Bollywood are accused?

Sapna Bhavnani, celebrity-hairstylist and a former Bigg Boss inmate, who has never shied away from sharing her experiences with life, took to Twitter to slam Bollywood Megastar, Amitabh Bachchan.

In the most stinging message, she told Bachchan his ‘image of being an activist’ is under threat since ‘Pink’ released long back and that his ‘truth will come out very soon.’ “Hope you are biting your hands cuz nails will not be enough (sic),” she concluded her post and also courageously tagged the Senior Bachchan’s account.

Encouraging women to “come out”, she even went on to claim to have “personally heard so many stories of Bachchan’s sexual misconduct.

”
She retweeted some comments who agreed with her views and later was shocked with posts and reports which alluded to Bachchan sexual harassing Sapna.

At a recent event, Amitabh Bachchan was asked about Tanushree Dutta's allegations of sexual misconduct against Nana Patekar, he steered clear by giving an answer and said, "Na toh mera naam Tanushree Dutta hai aur na hi Nana Patekar." Amitabh faced a lot of brickbat for his noncommittal response.

He was being called for his disdainful comment as the #MeToo movement started gaining momentum, he broke his silence on the issue.

After Sapna's tweets, she started receiving a backlash from Bachchan’s fans on social media. She tweeted out challenging the fear which is being instilled in the complainants, courtesy the big names with big power :

With new names coming up with every passing day, we hope the movement is here to stay.

Bollywood is rattled after Tanushree Dutta opened up a can of worms when she accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of the film Horn Ok Pleassss. The #MeToo debate has forced multiple women to come out to share their #MeToo experiences.
