Sacred Games 2 anticipants will now have the joy of seeing one of the biggest web hit series come to the screen earlier than was scheduled. Netflix has brought forward the release of season 2 by 12 hours. That means the Netflix series which was initially set to drop 12am PDT — that translates to 12:30pm IST will premiere at 12am IST on August 15.
The series will once again see Nawazuddin Siddiqui return as Ganesh Gaitonde, Pankaj Tripathi as the Guruji, Saif Ali Khan, Kalki Koechlin, Surveen Chawla, Elnaaz Norouzi, Amruta Subhash among others.
"Second season is more internal. Gaitonde is a complicated character. It is for the first time that I had the opportunity to delve deep into a character. It was a great experience’’ Nawazuddin Siddiqui says of his part in season 2.
Sacred Games' crew comprises over 3,500 people shot for more than 100 days at 112 locations, including Delhi, Mumbai, Nairobi, Cape Town and Johannesburg, to film 400 minutes of footage, equivalent to three-and-a-half Hindi films. There will be eight episodes in total and all of them will be uploaded on the streaming platform in one go.
