Actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar has confirmed that superstar Salman Khan will be launching his daughter Saiee with the upcoming film, “Dabangg 3”.
“Yes. It is true, he is launching my daughter Saiee in ‘Dabangg 3’,” Manjrekar told PTI. Saiee will be playing Salman’s love interest in “Dabangg 3”, which is said to be a prequel.
In the past, Manjrekar had hinted that Saiee might make her Bollywood debut with “Dabangg 3”, which is being touted as a prequel film.
“At the end of the day if she wants to act, I am ok. I am not telling her what to do. I want her to learn on her own. She is very excited about the film. He must have seen some spark in her. Salman is a friend and I can’t say no to him plus my daughter also felt she had an inclination to acting,” he had previously told PTI.
‘Dabangg’ franchise which commenced in the year 2010 , that started with 2010 blockbuster, Salman had also launched veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi in Bollywood. Manjrekar and Salman have shared screen space together as co-actors in several films such as “Wanted”, “Dabangg”, “Ready”, “Bodyguard” and “Jai Ho”.
Actor-filmmaker Arbaaz Khan says his next production "Dabangg 3" is shaping up well and the shooting of the film will be complete by September end. Arbaaz had turned producer with 2010 blockbuster film "Dabangg", featuring his superstar brother Salman Khan as a small town cop, Chubul Pandey. He later made his directorial debut with "Dabangg 2" in (2012).
Apart from this, Salman Khan will also return as a host for the 13th season. If reports are to be believed, Salman Khan will be charging a whopping Rs 13 crore per week. An informer told Pinkvilla, "The season will extend for the usual 105 days, which means 15 weeks. Last year, he charged Rs 11 crore per day of shoot. He shoots both the weekend special episodes in a day and so, in 2018 he minted Rs 165 crore from the whole season.
BB 13 will be a notch higher. He has hiked his fee and will get Rs 13 crore per week, which means Rs 6.5 crore per episode. That also means that he will in fact be earning close to Rs 200 crore (Rs 195 crore exactly) this time and not 400 crore as being reported."
In the third instalment of “Dabangg”, Sonakshi and Abraaz are reprising their roles of Salman’s onscreen wife, Rajjo and brother, Makhanchand Pandey, while Kannada star Sudeep is the new entrant to the franchise.
Co-produced by Salman and actor-producer Nikhil Dwivedi, "Dabangg 3" is scheduled to hit cinema houses on December 20.
