All the Munna Bhai fans now have a reason to rejoice.
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who recently launched the trailer of his upcoming movie ‘Bhoomi’ has some good news in store regarding Munna Bhai 3. The actor said at the launch that he will start working on the third installment of the popular franchise Munna Bhai after Bhoomi is released.
Rajkumar Hirani directed Munna Bhai MBBS became a major hit at the box office. The movie which was released in 2003 proved to be a turning point in Dutt’s career. He played the role of a goon Munna aka Murli Prasad Sharma who goes to a medical school. This was followed by the second installment, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ where the actor reprised his role as Munna Bhai.
The ‘Vaastav’ actor said that he would love to start work on Munna Bhai 3 and will focus only on the same after 'Bhoomi' is released.
The producer of the hit franchise Vidhu Vinod Chopra said at the trailer launch that writer Abhijat Joshi is still working on the script.
Hirani was also present at the event. The director said that out of the four films he has made; three of them feature Sanjay Dutt. The ‘PK’ director is currently working on the movie ‘Dutt’ which is based on the life of Sanjay Dutt.
Sanjay Dutt, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra make a terrific trio and the audience is eagerly waiting to see them collaborate for Munna Bhai 3.
Dutt's upcoming 'Bhoomi' is slated for a September 22 release and it also stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Sidhant Gupta. The movie is directed by Omung Kumar.
