Sridevi with Boney Kapoor.
Veteran actress Sridevi’s sudden demise was a shock for the entire nation. The actress died on February 24, 2018, due to accidental drowning in a bathtub in Dubai. Now more than a year after Sridevi’s demise, a report has surfaced online that is raising shocking allegations regarding the late actress' death.
A new claim by Kerala Director General of Police (Prisons) Rishiraj Singh alleged that the actress' death was not an accident but a murder. He reportedly claimed that his late friend Dr Umadathan, who conducted Sridevi’s autopsy, stated several circumstantial evidences to prove the same.
"My friend and the late forensic expert Dr Umadathan had told me long back that Sridevi's death might have been a murder and not an accidental death. This he told me when I asked him about Sridevi's death, out of curiosity," wrote Singh in a column for the newspaper Kerala Kaumudi.
"He also pointed out certain facts to back his claims. According to him, a person will never drown in one-foot deep water, however much he drinks. He will drown only if somebody holds his both legs and sinks his head into the water," wrote the IPS officer.
A while back, Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor made an appearance on trade analyst Komal Nahta's show and got emotional while talking about Sridevi's sudden death. The producer said, "If you don't have support at home, by at home I mean your wife, with that support you can do anything." Further, an emotional Boney was asked if there is any moment when he does not miss his wife, to which the producer replied with a nod, "Namumkin Hai." (It's impossible).
Sridevi had flown to Dubai to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding and was found dead in the bathtub of her hotel room in Dubai last year.
