New Delhi:

Vivegam, Thala Ajith’s latest release seems right on the track to rake in big moolah as it continues to dominate the box-office on the second day.

If the trade pundits are to be believed, the spy-thriller may end up collecting Rs 100 crore in its opening weekend.

Directed by Siva, Vivegam released on Thursday to an astonishing response from Thala Ajith’s fans around the world. Such was the craze that special fan shows were screened in Tamil Nadu on Thursday midnight, followed by early morning shows while single screen owners say they are under immense pressure to increase the number of shows to accommodate the demand of the viewers.

Ajith craze has also swept advance booking even as Vivegam has earned Rs 16.20 crore in Tamil Nadu and more than Rs 30 crore on day one worldwide. It is the biggest ever opening for an Ajith film, and second only to superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali, which made over 21 crore on its opening day.

Vivegam also dominated the box office in other south Indian states, including Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has made his debut in Tamil films with Vivegam.

“Incredible response all over! So happy to see #vivegam receive this kind of love and appreciation!,” tweeted Vivek.

Overwhelmed by the response for films, Siva thanked the fans for the support. “Sai sai positive reviews and reports pouring in day 2 #vivegam #ennampolvazhkai,” he wrote on his Twitter page.
