Veteran actor Om Puri passes away on Friday morning. He was 66.
As per reports, Om Puri suffered severe cardiac arrest at his residence this morning.
Om Puri was born on 18, October, 1950 in Ambala to a Punjabi family. Puri graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He was also an alumnus of the 1973 class of National School of Drama where Naseeruddin Shah was a co-student.
In 1993, the actor married Nandita Puri. The couple however got seperated in 2013.The couple have a son named Ishaan.
Not only was he a stalwart of the 'Indian Art Cinema' movement, which reached its zenith in the 80s, but Puri established himself as a successful actor in Hollywood too.

Om Puri has won accolades for his exemplary acting skills. The actor had been awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India and Order of British Empire, National Award (Best Actor for Ardh Satya and Arohan) besides many others.
