New Delhi:

Most-awaited film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' teaser is out! National-award winning actress, Kangana Ranaut looks ready for battle portraying the role of Rani Laxmibai in Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi.

The teaser opens with the voiceover of the megastar, Amitabh Bachchan that say, “When everyone was succumbing to violence and oppression, from the womb of India’s soil rose Manikarnika,”

This grand introduction is followed by shots of Manikarnika entering her magnificent palace. Kangana looks enigmatic sitting atop her throne with a baby in her lap. In another shot, Kangana looks fierce riding her horse. The queen actress is sure to win hearts looking like a raging commander well- versed in sword fight!

The teaser for the Rani Laxmibai biopic shows several avatars of Ranaut as the warrior-queen, but focuses most of its attention to her prowess on the battlefield. Watch the teaser here:

Earlier this year, the film was in talks as it faced opposition in the state of Rajasthan by Sarva Brahman Mahasabha accusing the makers for distorting real facts and showcasing a love angle with a British man.

Helmed by Krish, this Kangana Ranaut-starrer is slated to hit the theatres on the occasion of Republic Day of 2019. The movie may clash with Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30.

Ever since the film went on floors, Manikarnika has been in the news for no good reasons. One of the most controversial films of the year, Manikarnika had to face a lot of backlash from its cast and crew. The budget of Manikarnika has reportedly escalated from Rs 60 crore to Rs 125 crore, Kangana taking over the reins from director Krish and co-star Sonu Sood abandoning the project due to differences with her.

The cast also includes Ankita Lokhande, Suresh Oberoi, and Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta among others.
