Guinness World Records hold every possible unique talent and has always been encouraging people to make new records. When it comes to challenges, Indians can never be left behind. Taking this spirit, a 16-year-old girl from Gujarat has earned a spot in the Guinness World Records for the longest hair on a teenager. Nilanshi Patel’s locks measure 5-foot and 7-inches.
Hailing from Gujarat, Nilanshi had decided ten years ago, to never go for a haircut after a bad experience. Today, at the age of 16, the girl has managed to earn a name of India’s own Rapunzel with nearly 6-foot hair.
"I got my hair cut, a really bad haircut. So, then I decided that I won't cut my hair. I decided that when I was six and have not cut it since," Nilanshi explains to Guinness World Records.
The Gujarati girl has been nicknamed Rapunzel by her friends. In a report published in NDTV, she has been quoted as saying, "My mother helps me to braid and to comb my hair."
The Guinness World Records shared a video of this 16-year-old girl, showing off her beautiful hair. Watch the video here:
"People think that I face so many problems with my hair, but I don't face any problems, I do sports and all the things with my hair. It's a lucky charm for me," says Nilanshi.
"I style it is as a long braid or as a bun on the top of my head. When I am going to an occasion, or when I am playing table tennis, I bun my hair on my head so that it is comfortable for me."
