Ever Since the news of Ranveer Singh playing the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan’s directorial 83 was announced, fans have been waiting with bated breath for the film. On his birthday, Ranveer had shared his first look as Kapil Dev from the film leaving an impressive mark on everyone. Today, the actor has shared another look wherein he is seen pulling off the iconic Natraj Shot.Â

Ranveer took training from Kapil himself and learned his batting, bowling and fielding style as well. Talking about the same, Ranveer had told DNA After Hrs, "I am looking forward to spending time with Kapil sir. I feel that would be integral to my process of transforming myself into him. I want to absorb as much as I can from him - his story, experiences, thoughts, feelings, expressions and energy."The film will also star Ranveer's wife Deepika Padukone. She is playing Kapil Dev's wife Romi Bhatia in the film.
"I play the role of Romi Dev, wife of Kapil Dev in the movie and she was instrumental in Kapil Dev's success, especially when he was the captain. She was part of the support system and I feel connected to that. I always feel that in an athlete's life the wife and family sacrifice a lot of their own dreams to support the vision of the athlete, the goals that they set and they end up sacrificing their own career. I have seen it in my own family. My mother had been supportive to my father in his career. I think to see the human side, to see what an important role family play in success of athlete I took up this role," she had said in a recent interview.
