Ishaan Khatter today shared the first look of Mira Nair’s A Suitable Boy on his Instagram. The poster features Ishaan Khatter along with Tabu on a porch swing.
While Ishaan plays the role of Maan Kapoor, Tabu is seen as courtesan Saeeda Bai, with whom he becomes dangerously infatuated. The actor captioned the picture as, ''A Suitable Boy.. first look.''

A Suitable Boy is a celluloid adaptation of Vikram Seth’s acclaimed bestselling novel of the same name. The series is set in newly-independent India and interweaves the stories of four families - the Mehras, the Kapoors, the Chatterjis and the Khans.
Apart from Ishaan, Tabu and Ram, A Suitable Boy features newcomer Tanya Maniktala, Rasika Dugal, Shahana Goswami, Namit Das, Gagan Dev Riar, Danesh Razvi, Mikhail Sen, Vivek Gomber and Mahira Kakkar.
Earlier, talking about her role, Tabu said she is looking forward to another "creatively charged experience" with the filmmaker. She told news agency IANS: "I'm very happy to be working on A Suitable Boy and especially with Mira. Having worked with her on The Namesake, I look forward to one more creatively charged experience."
Talking about the film, Ishaan Khatter earlier said it's an honour for him to work with Nair. "It's not only my pleasure but an honour to be working on this illustrious material alongside such distinguished artistes and technicians led by the indomitable Mira Nair. I hope I can satisfy her vision and give the global audience the character they deserve in Maan Kapoor," he said.
