It's been a week since Aamir Khan starrer 'Dangal' has hit the theatres and the movie is doing a commendable business at the box office with a business of Rs 216.12 crore so far.
Interestingly, 'Dangal' has witnessed a cut-throat competition with Salman Khan's 'Sultan' ever since it was announced, given that both the movies were based on wrestling.
Everyone has been wondering if 'Dangal' will be able to beat 'Sultan'.
Going by the box office collections, 'Dangal' earned Rs 29.78 crore on its day of release in comparison to Sultan's Rs. 36.54 crore.
It was clear the Salman was the winner of the first day collections. However, soon the Aamir starrer was seen pacing up and entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club in four days just like 'Sultan'.
Later, the Salman starrer slowed down on its 6th and 7th day, however 'Dangal' is seen maintaining it's pace and continues to do wonders.
Hopes were high that Dangal will be able to surpass Sultan after a week of it's release.
But looks like we will still have to wait for that big moment.
Going by the box office report, 'Dangal' fails to beat the Salman starrer with a collection of Rs  216.12 crore.

Indeed, Salman Khan is having an upper hand on Aamir so far.
However, according to Bollywood trade analyst 'Dangal' is sprinting at the box office and is expected to reach Rs 300 crore given that there are no major movies in the theatres this festive season.
At the speed at which #Dangal is sprinting, ₹ 300 cr is an easy target... Will be 4th film to achieve it <#PK, #BajrangiBhaijaan, #Sultan>.

Why #Dangal is expected to score BIG in Weekend 2... Three factors...
1. Strong merits
2. Holidays
3. No major film in theatres— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) December 31, 2016
It will be interesting to see if 'Dangal' will be able to take over 'Sultan' in the coming days.
