After garnering support from major personalities, Megastar Aamir Khan has also come out to support her 'Dangal' co-star Zaira Wasim who posted an open apology on social media on Monday.
Zaira, the girl who played the role of younger Geeta Phogat in the box office super-hit 'Dangal' posted an apology letter on Facebook after she was trolled for her recent meeting with Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti.
Aamir Khan in a twitter post on Tuesday termed Zaira as her role model. In a picture tweet, he said that he can totally understand and imagine, what led her to make such a statement.

He said that bright, young, talented, hardworking, caring and courageous kids like Zaira are a role model for children not in India but across the world.
Aamir also appealed everyone to leave Zaira alone and respect the fact that she is just a 16-year-old girl trying her best to deal with life.
Earlier other personalities like wrestler Geeta Phogat, Javed Akhtar and Madhur Bhandarkar poured in their support for Zaira Wasim on social media.

It all started after the young actress met J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti and posted it on Facebook. Though she later deleted her post and urged the media, others not to blow this out of proportion.
Cricketer Mohammad Kaif, Gautam Gambhir and Virendra Sehwag also came out in Zaira's support and tweeted in favour of the actress from Kashmir.

Zaira Wasim received much acclaim for her performance and the storyline in Dangal. Zaira has already been signed up for Aamir Khan’s next production, 'Secret Superstar'.
