Two of B-town longest reigning stars, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, though, have never shared the big screen together makes up with an envious bond offscreen. Aamir Khan who attended Nasscom’s annual technology and leadership summit in Mumbai last week conjured his side as a storyteller when he unfolded an anecdote of him with SRK. Turning back the hands of the clock back to 1996, Aamir much to the audience’s delight narrated a story that involved the King of Romance, Shah Rukh Khan and how he had gifted him a laptop unbeknownst to SRK that he is a tech novice.
Comparing his weakness in technological flaw to that of Shah Rukh Khan’s flair in technological know-how, Aamir narrates, ‘’ "Technology and me are so far remote. I will tell you one joke. Shah Rukh Khan and I were in 1996, we were doing a show together in the USA and UK and Shah Rukh was very into technology, even at that time, he was up-to-date and all that. Woh time par ek naya computer aaya tha Toshiba and he told me ki mein le raha hu and it's a latest computer. He said I think you should also take this computer and I had never used a computer in my life toh I said mujhe kya zaroorat hai computer ki toh he said nahi, tu samaj nahi raha hai, ismein tu office daal, yeh daal woh daalmereko buhut samjhaya usne toh I said jo tu lega apne liye, wahi tu mere liye lele. (Whatever you are buying, you will buy the best, buy it for me),” he explained.
“So, poor chap, he went and bought two computers, laptop naya naya aaya tha woh time par. He got his laptop and my laptop and I came back to India. That laptop I did not open even one day and I m not joking. Uss laptop ko 5 saal ke baad mera ek naya manager aaya toh usne bola that sir aapka ek laptop mein dekhta hu hamesha pada rehta hai, can I use it and I said please use it and he opened it and woh on hee nahi hua,” he added as he laughed.
Although the two Bollywood moguls have never been seen in a movie together, they are often spotted sharing pictures of the two together quashing all rumours that there could be some squabble between the two.
