Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is known as Mr. Perfectionist for a reason. The talented actor has been delivering stupendous performances in all his films, be it Dangal or Secret Superstar.
The Ghajini star, who recently completed 30 successful years in the Hindi film industry, believes he is a not a natural actor. Aamir Khan said, unlike other actors he has to work his way through a performance so as to reach the perfect pitch
''I have a sense of what a good performance entails but it takes me a while to embody the role’’, Aamir Kahn said in a group interview.
"When I see actors like Naseer (Nasseruddin Shah), Om Puri ji, Raghubir Yadav, Dilip Kumar sahab, Amitabh Bachchan ji and Zaira Wasim, I feel they are a powerhouse. When they give their shot, there is so much belief in them and it comes out very naturally and effortlessly’’, the Dil actor added.
The 3 Idiots actor said that he would have to work to reach up that level and it would a bit of effort to do so. Aamir Khan, who would be next seen in Thugs of Hindostan, said it he doesn’t mind rehearsing multiple times if it can improve the performance.
The Lagaan actor cited the example of Dangal and said that it took Zaira Wasim just a week to pick up the Haryanavi accent for the film, while he struggled for four months to understand and learn it.
"I am not a natural (actor). When I start my first reading I feel I am very bad, like when the reading of 'Lagaan' was happening I was like director Ashutosh Gowariker shouldn't drop me as other actors like Raghubir ji are doing good. My first reading is always pathetic and I start working on it’’, the Mann actor said.
Aamir Khan also believed that his biggest strength was that he isn’t scared to fail.
"I don't mind doing bad rehearsals, again and again, to finally discover where I am supposed to pitch. I have a good sense of performance. Everyone is not a born actor but in my case, I can sense what a good performance is and I work my way there."
