Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan was one of the most anticipated flicks of the year and fans were eagerly waiting for it since the first look of the movie released. Produced with a staggering budget of more than Rs 250 crore, Thugs of Hindostan failed to impress the audience and the movie tanked miserably at the box-office.

During an event, Aamir said that he takes full responsibility for his film’s failure. He said, “I take full responsibility for Thugs not working with the audience. I think we went wrong but I would like to take full responsibility of that. You can be sure we tried our level best’’.
“We didn’t leave any stone unturned but somewhere we went wrong. There are some people who liked the film, and we would like to thank them but they are in minority. Majority didn’t like and we realise this’’, he added.
Thugs of Hindostan features Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Aamir Khan in lead roles. But, despite having big names in the star cast, the movie didn’t perform as expected and became the biggest disaster of the year.
Aamir Khan said, “The audience which came with so much expectation to watch my film, I want to apologise to them also that this time I couldn’t entertain them. I am feeling very bad that we weren’t able to entertain them’’.

The movie opened quite well at the box-office on the first day, earning Rs 50.75 crore. However, with the negative word of mouth and lukewarm reviews from the critics and audience, the collection consistently dropped with each day.
The 53-year old actor will be looking forward for the film to release in China, as his last few films have churned out big at the Chinese box-office.
