Actor Aamir Khan will grace the fifth edition of Indian Screenwriters Conference (ISC) as chief guest.
The biennial event, organised by the Screenwriters Association, will be held from August 1 to 3 at St Andrew's Auditorium, Bandra in Mumbai. The theme this year is 'Where Mind Is Without Fear'.
Noted personalities, including journalist Vinod Dua, will be delivering the keynote address at the inaugural day of the event. It will witness discussions on various topics by a panel of several industry insiders, including Sumeet Vyas, "Haider" writer Basharat Peer, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Akshat Verma, Somen Mishra, Amit Masurkar and others.
"This conference is gathering of not only screenwriters but also directors, producers, tv heads, academicians and creative minds. As participant's knowledge and insight I got from previous screenwriter's conference was immense," Sanjay Chouhan, Conference Convenor, said in a statement.
"We want to enhance it further with this conference. We want to bring people related to screen under one umbrella to share their experience, knowledge, mistakes, brickbats. trolls, rewards and achievement. Alone we may not be able to do anything but together we can sing 'where the mind is without fear'," Chouhan added.
It was in 2016 that the conference was first held with the objective to address issues concerning Indian screenwriters and lyricists.
The conference also aims to highlight the surrounding social realities, within and outside the film and TV industries.
