Tom Hank’s 1994 classic, Forrest Gump is getting a Hindi reprise and while it may be too good to be true, it is not a drill! And even better Aamir Khan is starring in it! Remember in 2010 when Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr overwhelmingly impressed with Aamir Khan's performance in his film Lagaan referred to him as the 'Tom Hanks of India'” well, he will now be the Tom Hanks for his role as Forrest Gump.
According to Filmfare, reports of Aamir acquiring rights of Forrest Gump from Paramount Pictures have been doing rounds on the internet for a long time now and now a source suggests that the actor is confirmed to play the lead in the Hindi remake of a simpleton's 30-year odyssey.

To make the news of the confirmation even closer to reality, a source close to the actor is also said to have informed Filmfare that Aamir is officially on board for the project of the comedy-drama. The rights for the same have reportedly been acquired and the actor may soon make an official announcement regarding the same.
The movie based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel Forrest Gump stars a list of Hollywood A-listers like Academy Award winner Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise among others.
