Accidental Prime Minister Row: Plea filed in Delhi High Court seeking ban on trailer

Days after the trailer release of Anupam-Kher starrer The Accidental Prime Minister, a movie based on the controversial book by former prime minister Manmohan Singh's media advisor Sanjaya Baru, the war of words erupted between the Congress and the BJP. The film became a talking point since its trailer released. 

Now, in a recent development, a plea has been moved before the Delhi High Court demanding a ban on the trailer of the movie The Accidental Prime Minister. The plea states that facts have been twisted to malign the image of the former PM Manmohan Singh and this became a reason for seeking a ban on film’s trailer.

Earlier, a case has been filed against actor Anupam Kher and others associated with upcoming film The Accidental Prime Minister in a Bihar court on Wednesday for damaging the image of some top people. The court has admitted the case and fixed January 8 to hear the case in Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate court.

The trailer has raked up talk about the film's portrayal of a political party and has raised questions on whether the filmmaker has a political agenda.

The film revolves around the life of Manmohan Singh, the economist who served as the Prime Minister for 10 years from 2004 to 2014.
