In the cases of cyber-crime, the law expects the victim to come forward and lodge complaint. Once the complaint gets registered, the police gets legal power to act on the case. This becomes crucial in cyber-crimes because the police need to furnish the privacy details of the one being accused from the respective social media platforms.
