Very few in the Bollywood industry are outspoken and calls a spade a spade and actress Richa Chadha is one of them. Also, when it comes to telling the hard truth about social media, she never backs-off. Richa is one of the few celebs who has been outspoken on civic issues and at times, it results in political trolling as well. The actress has now taken time off from her social media in order to focus on a deadline. Yes you read it right.
She posted a video on both Instagram and Twitter to inform her followers that she will come back in a week or longer. The actress captioned the video as, “Bye now! Yesterday, via an app, I saw that I spent aimless scrolling ate away at 5 hours from my day! So I have a deadline, long overdue. And I need to focus! So bye, c ya later (sic).”
Take a look:
Richa further said in her video that social media is very toxic especially around election time.
However, Richa has maintained that she will not get into a public war of words with anyone, a position maintained by Alia Bhatt and several others too.
It is to be noted that social media a platform where celebrities can interact with their fans directly and honestly. But it is also very time-consuming because it allows people access to a celebrity’s life on a 24×7 basis. Isn’t it? Many Bollywood actors including Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and others have been reluctant to use social media very actively.
Blogger Lilly Singh also took a break from social media for mental health reasons while internet comic Mallika Dua has permanently deactivated her Twitter account as well.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Richa Chadha is awaiting for her next release Section 375. The Courtroom drama also features Akshaye Khanna. The film is set to hit the theatres on August 2.
