Hrithik Roshan who is best known for playing historical figures with his famous 'Greek God' looks, is all set to play the lead actor as lord Shiva in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next. The movie which was previously titled 'Shuddhi' is an adaption of 'Immortals of Meluha.'
Immortals of Meluha which is happened to be the first novel of Shiva trilogy by Amish Tripathi, chronicles the arrival of lord Shiva in the land of Meluha and his tale of marriage with Goddess Parvati.
Earlier, the movie was scheduled to be helmed by Karan Johar and Bhansali expressed his interest in the project after the rights bought by Johar was expired and he surrendered to them.
Being asked about the same Tripathi said, "The contract had expired. There were various issues but Karan and I have parted as friends."

Since ever the movie is in talks, several Bollywood biggies have also walked in and out of the project. 'Dabang' actor Salman Khan, B-town dancing sensation Varun Dhawan and Tiger Shroff are among those stars.
However, leaving them all behind the 'Krrish' actor is currently all set to make his second collaboration with Bhansali. Previously, both the stars joined hands for the 2010 Indian drama 'Guzaarish'.
On the work front, while Bhansali is at present gearing up for his forthcoming period drama 'Padmavati', Hrithik will be next seen in Rakesh Roshan directorial 'Krrish 4'.
The 4th sequel of 'Krrish' which is expected to feature Yami Gautam opposite Hrithik, will hit the screens in 2018.
