It was the clash of two biggest films of the season this Diwali weekend - Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay which ensured an epic clash on box office. From the initial reports, it seems like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) is ahead in the race to grab more viewers.
From the clouds of controversy over its release or the level of intimacy between Ranbir-Aishwarya, the film has constantly remained in the limelight which somehow benefited the film. ADHM is rapidly inching towards entering the ambitious 100 crore club. The film is also brings lead actor Ranbir Kapoor a much awaited hit after a long time.
On the opening day the film collected around Rs. 13.3 crore and after staying strong at the box office for five days, ADHM has now collected around Rs. 66.38 crore till Wednesday. Going at this rate, the film is expected to collect 100 crore soon.

On the other hand, Shivaay is showing its dominant mainly at the single screens and theatres in small cities. Film collected around Rs. 10.24 crore on Friday and showing some growth the film collected Rs. 10.06 crore on Saturday and Rs. 8.26 crore on Sunday. Till then Shivaay stood rock strong to compete against ADHM.

With no big film releasing in the coming days, both films will look to encash the opportunity to fly high at the box office collection wise. Till now ADHM looks more prominent in term of collections.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and has Fawad Khan in a cameo role, while Shivaay stars Ajay Devgn, Sayesha Saigal and Erika Kaar in lead roles.
