Aditya Narayan breaks silence on road accident, calls it 'unfortunate'

Singer-turned-actor Aditya Narayan has expressed his regret over the recent incident that landed him in a legal trouble.

Aditya allegedly rammed his Mercedes into an autorickshaw leaving two people injured. He was detained for the incident, however, was released on bail later.

Talking about the incident, Aditya said he is sorry for the accident.

"It was an unfortunate accident and I feel sorry for what had happened... I expected him to slow down at the junction, but he didn't brake and took a right turn... I swerved on the left to avoid him and hit the autorickshaw on the side, causing it to topple over twice," Aditya said in a statement.

He further added, "Soon after the accident, I took the driver and a woman passenger in the auto rickshaw to Kokilaben Ambani hospital, where they are recuperating." 

Aditya further said that he would bear all the medical expenses of the injured.

"I have decided to bear the full medical expenses of the injured victims, including the widow Shivekar, who is likely to be discharged today. The autorickshaw driver's treatment is likely to continue," he asserted.

Reportedly, a complaint was also registered against Aditya Narayan under sections 279 (rash driving), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.

He was released on bail as the offenses are bailable.
