Known for playing intense roles in his movies, Ajay Devgn is all set to play an Income Tax officer in his next flick ‘Raid’ directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. The film which is set in the 1980s, will be based on a life of an I-T officer from Uttar Pradesh. Bhushan Kumar and Kumar Mangat will produce the film. Written by Ritesh Shah, the film is scheduled to hit the theatres in April, 2018.
The film is based on one of the most popular income tax raids in India of that times. It is expected that the film will go on the floors this September. “Raid is a story that needs to be told on the big screen, and I’m looking forward to working with Ajay on a subject like this,” TOI quoted director Raj Kumar Gupta as saying. He is known for making such flicks and has critically acclaimed movies including ‘No One Killed Jessica’ and Rajeev Khandelwal’s ‘Aamir’ to his name.
After Ajay’s spectacular performances in movies like Gangaajal, Drishyam and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, his fans are eagerly waiting for ‘Raid’. Meanwhile, he is gearing up for his upcoming movie ‘Baadshaho’, which is set to hit theatres on September 1, 2017. Emraan Hashmi and Ileana D’Cruz are his co-actors in the film.
