Akshay Kumar Donates Rs 3 Crore To Provide With Coronavirus Protective Gear To Healthcare Workers

Akshay Kumar and his ways to help the authorities fight the coronavirus pandemic got an extra push when he contributed an additional Rs 3 crore to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The actor has already contributed Rs 25 crore to the PM-cares fund setting a record of the biggest contribution made by any Bollywood celeb. 

The Rs 3 crore fund will help healthcare workers with the production of personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare and municipal workers. According to news reports, the actor has been quietly offering all kinds of help posibble to the local authorities.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Friday, "#Update: After contributing Rs 25 cr to #PMCares, #AkshayKumar contributes Rs 3 cr to #BMC to assist in the making of PPEs, masks and rapid testing kits... #COVID19Pandemic #CoronaVirus #Covid_19 #COVID19 (sic)."

On Thursday, Akshay thanked all the essential service providers for their day night toil to combat coronavirus and keep lives safe.

Sharing a video of himself, he wrote, "There’s an army of people working day and night to keep us safe, our families safe. Lets together say #DilSeThankYou to them because that’s the least we can do. @mybmc @MumbaiPolice (sic)."

BMC replying to the actor said, "Thank you, Mr. @akshaykumar. Words like these from Mumbaikars like you keep us going even in the toughest of times. And for this, we too would like to say #DilSeThankYou to each & every Mumbaikar, who is with us in this fight"

Meanwhile Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan has given up his four story office to BMC to use it as a quarantine facility.
