Akshay Kumar has got all the reasons to be on cloud nine these days as the actor has received his maiden National Film Award. Kumar was conferred with National Award for Best Actor for her commendable performance in 'Rustom' on Wednesday. While the actor is grinning from ear to ear over his achievement, he chose to share his moment of happiness on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Akshay shared a picture from the 64th National Film Award ceremony where he is seen receiving the honour from President Pranab Mukherjee. He was seen wearing a black bandhgala by designer Manish Malhotra for the occasion as he received his much awaited award. Akki captioned the pic as, "No words can do justice to the joy I feel at this moment...sharing with you all my first ever #NationalFilmAward!Thank you for the love."

Indeed, it is a big day for the 'Baby' actor and he was accompanied by his lady love Twinkle Khanna and son Aarav for the occasion. Talking about his triumph, Akshay told Hindustan Times, “To finally take my last few steps towards the President of India to receive my National Award felt almost unreal.â€
He further added, “I’ve never felt so light and so humbled at the same time. When one works day in and day out, as I do, something like this isn’t just an honour, it’s a moment in time where everything makes sense. No matter how hard the journey may have been, to stand here now, in front of my family, is the cherry on this almighty cake we call life.â€
On the work front, Akshay Kumar will be seen in 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' opposite Bhumi Pednekar, which is slated to release on June 2. Besides, he is also shooting for Twinkle's home production 'Padman'.
