Akshay Kumar to essay NSA Ajit Doval in Neeraj Pandey's next?
Bollywood is taking much interest in bringing the stories of the men in uniform who contributed much in protecting the unity and integrity of the nation to the silver scren. After biopics on Captain Vikram Batra, Gunjan Saxena IAF Wing Commander (retired) Vijay Karnik, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw were announced, filmmaker Neeraj Pandey has zeroed down on a movie on Ajit Doval, current National Security Advisor to PM Narendra Modi.
Ajit Doval started his career as an IPS offer. He was actively involved in anti-insurgency operations in Mizoram and Punjab. He is a former Indian intelligence and law enforcement officer.
According to a report by Mumbai mirror, Akshay Kumar is apparently collaborating with A Wednesday director, Neeraj Pandey for a movie on Ajit Doval. The report confirms this association and states that the Good News actor has already given his verbal nod to it.
As per the report, the script and the research for the same is currently underway and there's still some time before the project starts rolling.
"Neeraj will first make Chanakya with Ajay Devgn, which was announced a few months ago. Akshay also has to complete prior commitments. The team wants to lock the script before making an official announcement," said a source to the tabloid.
Doval has many feathers in his cap and it would be intriguing to witness his achievements on the big screens especially at the advent of Section 370 in Jammu and Kashmir being revoked and the he reaching in Srinagar to handle the situation on ground.
Meanwhile, the actor currently has eight big projects in his kitty. While Housefull 4 and Good News are already wrapped and Mission Mangal is all set to release, he is currently working on Sooryavanshi with Rohit Shetty, Laxxmi Bomb, Bachchan Panday and now this thriller with Neeraj Pandey.
