Just a day after it was announced that Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt's Inshallah won't be releasing on Eid 2020, it has come to light that Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani's Laxmmi Bomb will release on that day. The movie, to be be directed by Raghav Lawrence, will release on May 22 next year. The film was earlier meant to release on June 5.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#LaxmmiBomb to release on #Eid2020 <22 May 2020>... Stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani... Raghava Lawrence directs."
In a statement today, Bhansali Productions had declared that Inshallah would be stalled. "Bhansali Productions has decided to not go ahead with In-shaa-Allah for now... Further announcement will be out soon... God willing."
However, it seems that Salman Khan will be coming with his another movie on Eid 2020. The Bharat star wrote, "The film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali is pushed, but I will still see you all on Eid, 2020. Insha-Allah!!"
Meanwhile, Laxmmi Bomb is the Hindi remake of 2011 Tamil horror comedy "Kanchana". In May, Lawrence had exited the project over "disrespect" and creative differences. The filmmaker, however, reconsidered his decision and again came on board after meeting the producers.
In the film, Akshay Kumar will play the role of a man possessed by a transgender ghost. There is much speculation that Amitabh Bachchan might also appear as a transgender ghost in the film. In May, Akshay shared the first look from the film Laxmmi Bomb. He wrote, "Bringing you one bomb of a story, Laxmmi Bomb starring @kiaraaliaadvani & yours truly! Bursting in cinemas on 5th June, 2020."
Laxmmi Bomb is produced by Cape of Good Films, Fox Star Studios, Tusshar Kapoor and Shabina Khan. The film also stars R Madhvan and Shobita Dhulipala in pivotal roles.
