Alia Bhatt has broken her silence on being called 'Irresponsible citizen' by Kangana Ranaut recently. In an event where she was present to receive 'Women of Worth' award, Alia opined that she prefers to keep her opinion to herself.Â
Without provoking the actress's anger she calmy appreciated her ability to talk candidly.
"I definitely don't have the ability to speak as candidly as Kangana does and I really really respect her for that. And may be in a way she is right that sometimes we do hold back. Kyunki hum nahi chahte ke, khamakha kyun bolna... My dad always says that there are already so many opinions in the world that the world could do with one less opinion. So, I have an opinion but I will keep it to myself. But kudos to her because she genuinely speaks really well."Â said the Gully Boy actress.

Stirring much controversy, the Manikarnika actress recently lambasted Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for not putting forth their opinion on politics. "I was watching Ranveer and Alia's interview where they said, 'Why should we speak about politics? We haven't done anything.' It doesn't work like that. You have to be responsible." she said. In an interview last month, Kangana had also spoken out about how people in the industry, including Alia and Aamir Khan, did not support her during the release of Manikarnika, while she had turned up for the screenings of Dangal, Secret Superstar and Raazi. This followed with Alia saying that she will apologise to Kangana on a personal level if she was upset with her.
