Kalank: Alia Bhatt shares first poster of her next movie with a GRAND CAST, announces release date

Alia Bhatt is on the roll these days with some major projects in her kitty. The actress, who is preparing for the release of her upcoming movie Raazi, has announced her next project as well.

The Highway actress will be next seen in Dharma Productions' Kalank opposite Varun Dhawan.

She took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the first poster of Kalank which features a grand cast of Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt. The movie will be set in 1940.

Helmed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank will be releasing on April 19 next year.

Notably, the movie was being planned for around 15 years now by Yash Johar and his son Karan. However, it got delayed due to several reasons. In fact, it was said to be featuring late actress Sridevi and was also titled Shiddat earlier.

However, post Sridevi's untimely death, she was replaced by Madhuri Dixit.

Interestingly, Kalank will bring back ex-lovers Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt together after almost two decades. They were last seen in 1997 release Mahaanta.

Well, given the impressive star cast of this epic drama, high hopes are being vested upon Kalank. It will be interesting to see if the movie will stand true to all the expectations.
