Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has opened up on the death threat she had received on Thursday saying that it was her father who had ensured that she was safe enough.
She even stated that since the matter is resolved now, there isn't much to worry about.
"I think the police and my dad are brave they did not give me a chance to get worried. They just took over. The matter is sorted and solved and everybody is safe and happy. As a parent my father has made me feel safe. With him by my side I had nothing to worry about," Alia was quoted as saying.
According to the report, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt had received an extortion call from an unidentified caller demanding a whooping amount of Rs 50 lakh failing which the accused had threatened to kill Alia and her mother Soni Razdan.

Subsequently, a case was registered by Juhu Police and the anti-extortion cell of Mumbai Crime Branch launched a probe.
With the help of Uttar Pradesh Police's Special Task Force, one person has been detained.
Earlier, Mahesh Bhatt too had took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to speak about the incident and wrote, "A bolt from the blue in the form of an extortion call & threat to my family was nipped in the bud by the MH & UP police in tandem.Gratitude!".
Currently, Alia Bhatt is busy promoting her upcoming movie 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' opposite Varun Dhawan.
Helmed by Shashank Khaitan, the movie is slated to release on March 10.
