Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital of Mumbai this evening for a routine check up, a source close to the actor said.
"Bachchan has been admitted to the hospital for a routine check up. There is nothing serious. He is fine and it is just a normal check up," the source said.
Bachchan, 75, is likely to undergo endoscopy before being discharged from the hospital, the source said.
There were reports that the actor is suffering from a gastrointestinal problem and was complaining of neck and spine pain, but there was no official word on this.
The actor will be seen next in "102 Not Out", also starring Rishi Kapoor.
The teaser of the film, directed by Umesh Shukla, was released Friday on Twitter. The film is set to release in May.
