Shatrughan Sinha's new play was attended by his friend and superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Bachachan was the chief guest for the play "Pati, Patni Aur Main", in which Sinha is in the lead role, and he stayed throughout the show and later praised his friend for the performance.
The play was hosted at prestigious National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) popularly known as "Tata Theatre" at Mumbai last night.
"It was really a touching moment for me. I am really grateful to Amitabh Bachchan for gracing
the show," Sinha told.
The 70-year-old actor has acted with Bachchan in hit movies like "Dostana", "Kala Pathar", "Shaan" and "Bombay to Goa".
Speaking after end of the play, Bachchan, 74, hailed Sinha's performance and said, "I could not have performed so well in the play."
The two, who became friends during their struggle days in Bollywood, after belting many films fell apart and did not come together on silver screen after "Dostana".
This period of separation also saw some unpleasant experiences with the two exchanging acrimony but they are nowmn back to being good friends.
"Pati, Patni Aur Main", directed by Ramesh Talwar, and written by Manohar Katdare also features Rakesh Bedi, Dimple Dandia and Sanjay Goradia.
The play has travelled to many places in the country and also abroad including UK, Nepal and US.
It was staged recently in Patna in which Sinha's friends Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad were present.
