Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan starrer Angrezi Medium witnessed a dull start at the box office. According to Box Office India report, the film earned an estimated Rs 3.50-3.75 crore nett on the opening day. The film's performance has been poorer than expected owing to coronavirus spread. The report further added that collections from big cities like New Delhi and Mumbai took a major beating. With cinemas remaining shut, the possibility of numbers picking up remain slim.
The film depicts the beautiful father-daughter relationship in the most hard-hitting way. It is a journey of a father who strives hard to give his daughter the best education.
Producer Dinesh Vijan recently revealed that the movie will arrive on a new date in theatres in Delhi, Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir. "'Angrezi Medium' has been a journey I shall cherish all my life. The one thing I've learnt from its making is that whatever be the obstacle, if we pour our heart and soul into something, the universe will have our back. "As the film now reaches India, we have already received unabashed love from Dubai and other international territories. Due to unforeseen circumstances it will however not release in Kerala, Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir," Vijan said in a statment.

Meanwhile, Irrfan recently posted a special video message for his fans. The actor hinted at his health issues and why he can’t be present to personally promote the film. ''Today I am with you and also not with you. This film Angrezi Medium is very special for me. I wanted to promote this film with the same kind of love we made it with. But there are some unwanted guests resting in my body. I am speaking to them. If there’s any progress, I’ll let you know. It is said that ‘when life gives you a lemon, make a lemonade.’ It’s easy to say but when life really gives you a lemon, it’s difficult to make lemonade out of it. But what choice does one have apart from being positive? We have made this film with exactly the same positivity. I hope this film will teach you, make you laugh, make you cry and then make you laugh all over again. Enjoy the trailer and be kind to each other,'' Irrfan said in the video.
