Anupam Kher was in news recently after he took digs on his ‘A Wednesday’ co-star Naseeruddin Shah for calling him ‘a clown’ while speaking on the most trending topic in the country which is Citizenship (Amendment) Act. Now in another viral video that he shared on Twitter , the actor called out people who have been making ‘azadi’ slogans over their anti-CAA protests for months now. The veteran actor is seen addressing his followers and people making ‘azadi’ slogans asking them what sense it makes as India has already attained Independence in 1947.

This video of Anupam Kher is attracting a lot of attention from Twitterati. "If you want freedom from starvation, then you have to work, you want freedom from caste bsed discrimination then you have to work. You cannot demand freedom by sitting at home. From 1947 to 2020, whatever the country has achieved, people have worked for it, sitting in the same institute for 25 years and not doing any work does not get you freedom.” Kher is seen saying in the video.

The video further claims that in ‘Azad’ India if the youth wants freedom from something they need to work, slogans cannot solve the purpose in any case. "In Azad India, if we want freedom from anything, then we should work for it, which crores of youth of the country are doing, in different fields, to take the country towards progress. What other contribution do slogans have to the country except merely being slogans?” said the ‘One Day’ actor.

Recently the actor also spoke on the Citizenship Amendment Act and National Citizen Register (NRC). Taking a dig on people protesting against the newly introduced act, he said, “ They do not understand traffic rules for 72 years, billions have to be advertised to teach them not to defecate in the open. GST is not understood for three years, but the Citizenship Amendment Act is understood in two days.”
