Anurag Kashyap has returned to Twitter to openly criticize the government, riding on the tide of the anti-CAA protests across India. However, after the filmmaker along with other celebrities such as Aparna Sen also appealed for an independent judicial probe into the violence against anti-CAA protesters in Uttar Pradesh, his Twitter account was apparently detained for a while.
The actor took to Instagram to share the same as he wrote, "So now I can only read tweets and retweet them. Can't speak my mind anymore. How afraid is this government of the truth. Let's see how long this lasts before they return my twitter rights to me."
He later posted his IG story screenshot as his profile picture after being unable to tweet. Although soon, it seems the director did get his Twitter rights back and he first tweeted saying, "And I am back ."
Earlier today, a video of Swara Bhasker questioning UP Police action against protestors was going viral. She tamed up with Zeeshan Ayub and called on her charcater of Bindiya from Ranjhanaa to protests against the loss of life during protests.
