Asha Bhosle, the queen of Hindi music industry, has enthralled the audience with her soulful voice since forever. The legendary singer turns 85 on Saturday while her compelling cool figure will always charm the industry for generations to come. Popularly known as ‘Asha Tai (sister)’, the singer seems to age backward, given her youthful charisma and perky sense of humour.

Taking to the micro-blogging websites, celebrities from sports to Bollywood fraternity, convey to the musical deity their warm and awe-inspiring birthday wishes. On one hand where Bollywood diva Shraddha Kapoor posted a cute picture on her twitter handle and wrote, “Happiest 85th birthday to my dearest Asha Aai @ashabhosle,” cricket ‘God’ Sachin Tendulkar, on the other hand, reminisced a beautiful song sung by her and wrote, “"Chura liya hai tumne jo dilko" sung by you has truly stolen hearts of all the music lovers. May you continue to do so. Wishing you a very Happy 85th Birthday @ashabhosle tai .”

The enchanting singer has graced the Bollywood industry with her soulful voice for nearly seven decades. She started singing career at a tender age of 10. The singer has made her way into the Guinness Book of World Records for recording over 11,000 songs in 20 different languages. Hailing from a family of musicians, Bhosle entered Bollywood following the footprints of elder sister Lata Mangeshkar.

The first music director to acknowledge and prepare Bhosle was O P Nayyar. It was him who gave a break to Asha Tai in 1956’s ‘C.I.D’. The director-singer duo produced 324 songs, which includes hit numbers like ‘Aaiye meharbaan’, ‘Isharo isharo’, ‘Aaao huzur tumko’, among other blockbusters.
