Assamese Singer Zubeen Garg gets 6 months jail, Rs.5000 fine for slapping minor.

Once again the Assam singer Zubeen Garg has engulfed in the controversy and this time regarding a three-year-old case. The Court of Magistrate awarded him six months' imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 5,000 in a case of slapping a boy.

In 2013, Garg had slapped a minor boy in a public space. The case was registered under Sections 323, 341 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

After giving the judgment, the court, however, told Zubeen Garg that he still could appeal in a higher court against the verdict which was later iterated by Garg's lawyer Jonmani Neog who said they would now definitely go to a higher court.

The minor boy's father Arup Borbora had filed a FIR with the police. The two FIR was filed against the Assam singer as Garg had also revealed the name of the boy which is against laws in order to protect the child.
