After unlimited speculations about upcoming project that will put an end to Shah Rukh Khan’s two yearlong break from acting, Harish Shankar, Telegu screenwriter, dialogue writer, actor and director, Harish Shankar who is also a close friend of Atlee has confirmed, the ’Badshah’ of Bollywood is indeed collaborating with the ‘Bigil’ director.
At a promotional event of 'Bigil' starring Vijay, fellow director Harish Shankar who was also present at the event spilled the beans about SRK's collaboration with Atlee. Harish said that he is praying to all the Gods to make it happen as soon as possible. He added that Atlee will be directing King Khan and can also go at events so he can see SRK.
To all the revelations by Shankar, Atlee smiled which confirmed that the collab is happening for sure!
Earlier a report by an entertainment portal has claimed that since Atlee Kumar's next movie with Vijay is being delayed and Shah Rukh Khan's proposed film with Ali Abbas Zafar has been sent to back burner, at this stage director and the actor turned producer are collaborating.
"Shah Rukh Khan has been reading many scripts. He has been having intense interactions with Ali Abbas Zafar but that film is not happening right now for some reason. Ali too has got busy with his web series Tandav, starring Saif Ali Khan. On the other hand, Atlee's film with superstar Vijay, Bigil, is expected to release in sometime. The director was to do another film with Vijay in December but again, this project is not happening at the moment. Atlee's dates, hence, are free from December," Bollywood Hungama quotes a source as saying.
Talking about the script that Atlee had written sometime back, the source revealed it will be an original story, complete massy entertainer full of action and not remake of the Bigil director's earlier works like Theri and Mersal.
Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment has offered a staggering Rs 30 crore to helm the project, the report also states. This is a huge amount for the South Indian filmmakers by any yardsticks. Normally commercially successful film directors in the Tamil film industry are paid anything around 5 to 8 crore.
