Ayushmann Khurrana has always been in a run of changing the stereotypical qualities of a Bollywood hero with the roles he chooses.
From taking up the role of a sperm doner in VickyDoner the recent ‘Bala’ an underconfident guy facing premature balding, he is changing the notion of what it takes to be a quintessential Bollywood hero one at a time. The actor has now again challenged the societal notions of masculinity with his new video on ‘titled, "What makes a true gentleman"
Talking about how the world desnot let a gentleman be ‘gentle’ he said that he does not want to be a macho man who builds six pack abs and can beat up goons but instead want to be the one who is honest and knows how to raise his voice when something wrong is happening. "Mujhe na hero, na saviour, na superman banna tha. Jo ro sake, jo ga sake. Kisi ko bacha paye to bacha sake, aisa man banna tha.”‬
He also talked in favour of homosexuality, saying it should not matter if a man likes the colour pink and Pink Floyd or he sleeps on a carpet or walk the red carpet, you’re the most powerful as long as there lives a gentleman in him.
Ayushmann's latest release Bala has become one of the highest-grossing openers and has collected Rs 42 crore since its release on November 8, 2019.
