Ayushmann Khurrana is on a mission to cover all topics that society shies away from, on the big screen, that is, going by his impressive movie picks. From a sperm-donor, to a seductive male tele-caller, a premature balding man and now a gay man in Anand Lal’s ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’. Speaking about his character 'Kartik Singh' in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Ayushmann spoke about the excitement of taking over the challenging role,
"A couple of movies are coming out next year. One is Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavhdhan' in February after that 'Gulabo Sitabo' both are exciting. 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' is more exciting because, as you know I am playing a gay guy. It a gay love story, this is the first time that we are going all out with a homosexual love story in the mainstream commercial Indian cinema. So it's really exciting", the actor expressed.
He further thanked his fans for their loyal support stating, "Thank you so much for all the love for all the three films this year - 'Article 15', 'Dream Girl' and of course 'Bala'. Thank you!"
His last movie, Bala was a win among fans brining in more than Rs 150 crore at the box office. In addition to playing a gay character in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, a sequel to his 2017 film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, he will also be seen sharing the screen with Big B in Gulabo Sitabo.
