The team of 'Babumoshai Bandookbaaz' on Wednesday held a press conference against Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Mumbai.
The team alleged that CBFC chairman Pahlaj Nihalani has asked 48 cuts in Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer which was already given ‘A’ certificate.
Kushal Nandy, director of ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’, said there is no “creative freedom” in the country. He said CBFC asked the producer Kiran Shroff that why she has made this kind of movie despite being a woman.
Nandy alleged that another CBFC member made derogatory remarks, saying that the “producer is not a woman” as she has donned pant- shirt.
The director said Pahlaj Nihalani came out and told him that he was lucky that his film is not banned. The film producer Kiran Shroff said that the CBFC made clear to her that they would not allow the release until they approach revising committee.
