Arzoo Govitrikar, who is best-known for her role in Baghban, has reportedly filed a case of domestic violence against her husband Siddharth Sabharwal. According to Mumbai reports, the actress, who is also the sister of model Aditi Govitrikar, alleges that her businessman husband physically assaulted her for years after getting drunk.
In the Mumbai Mirror, the actress claims that “(Siddharth) dragged her inside the bathroom around 4 am and hit her viciously.” She has also revealed that her husband threatened to kill her family’’, though her husband has denied such claims.
Replying to the accusations, Siddharth Sabharwal told the daily that said Ms Govitrikar had 'asked him to slap her' under the pretext of rehearsing for a crime show. "I will respond to the allegations at the right forum," he added.
The actress has registered a complaint on February 19 stating that she had been going through the ‘mental and physical torture’ by her husband Siddharth Sabharwal. She is also reportedly to have also submitted the CCTV footage of the assault that reportedly took place on February 15 in the report.
The couple got married in a traditional Marathi ceremony on March 15, 2010. Aditi or Siddharth are yet to release any official comment on the matter.
