Megastar Amitabh Bachchan went on a nostalgic trip while comparing the modes of communication in current times and past.
The 73-year-old “Wazir” actor, who now Facetimes with his grandchildren and other family members, recalled the days when one used to rely on trunk calls and hand written letters.
“Facetime calls are the finest substitute for absence in person and so many were done today with Jaya, who is not in town and with the grandchildren that are with her such joy to be conversing and feeling their presence though not present.
“And time takes you back to those days when we now wonder how did we ever communicate... First came the presence of a telephone in the house, that black instrument with the delightful holes... Those overseas calls that took ages and days for them to materialize.... Or more commonly that were called trunk calls,” Bachchan wrote on his blog.
“...But those were the days when your neighbor had a phone and you would have to run over to his house to receive a call if they managed to connect you their on emergencies only,” he added.
The actor recently celebrated his 43rd wedding anniversary with wife Jaya Bachchan and also did a Facetime call to the actress, who is currently in abroad.
