'He paid the price of being a star': Neelam Kothari's husband on Salman’s conviction

The Jodhpur session court has convicted Salman Khan in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The actor has been sentenced to five-year imprisonment along with a penalty of Rs 10,000.

Salman was accused of killing two blackbucks while he was shooting for his 1999 release Hum Saath Saath Hain. The Sultan actor was accompanied by Tabu, Neelam Kothari, Sonali Bendre and Saif Ali Khan during the poaching incident and were accused of the same.

While the other accused were acquitted, Salman has been sentenced to imprisonment.

Talking about the same, Neelam Kothari's husband Sameer Soni expressed his happiness over the acquittal of his wife. However, talking about

Salman's conviction, Sameer told a leading news channel, 'Salman has today paid the price of being a star'.

Besides, the reports also suggest that Salman's co-star from Hum Saath Saath Hain Saif Ali Khan too was disappointed over the actor's conviction.

Reportedly, Salman has been taken into custody and will be sent to Jodhpur Central Jail.
