In a heinous incident of revenge crime in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl was strangled to death and her eyes gouged out after her parents allegedly failed to repay a loan of Rs 10,000, the police have said.
Bollywood celebs who are now keen on expressing their concern over pertinent issues from politics to crime has also reacted to the incident via Twitter. Celebs have expressed anger and grief over the brutal incident that shook the nation.
Abhishek Bachchan twitted, "Just so disgusted and angered hearing about '......' How can somebody even think of doing such a thing?!?! Speechless….
Ayushmann Khurrana whose movie Article 15 potrays the story of two teenagers falling victim to caste discrimination twitted, "This is inhuman and barbaric.. My prayers for her family. Justice must be served! "
Sonam Kapoor tweeted, "Heartbreaking and horrific. I pray for her and her family. I also urge people to not make this into a selfish agenda. This is a little girls death, not a reason to spread your hate."
Kalki Koechlin tweeted, "How long will we keep hearing about little girls being raped? When will we start teaching our boys not to rape? May there be swift justice on case and may we as a society be more conscience of our children's safety in our daily work and interactions."
Denying reports of rape, the police said that the two of the accused have been arrested. A team of doctors had been constituted to conduct a post-mortem examination. The body of the minor girl was spotted by locals as stray dogs nibbled at it in Tappal area, the report added. The body was found with broken hands in a dumping ground not far from the minor's house.
