India woke up to a heart-breaking news on Saturday as ISRO’s Chandrayaan-2 lost contact with Vikram Lander just minutes before it’s soft-landing on Moon. Just 2.1 km from the touchdown, Vikram lander went silent. ISRO confirmed the news on Twitter and wrote, ''This is Mission Control Centre. #VikramLander descent was as planned and normal performance was observed up to an altitude of 2.1 km. Subsequently, communication from Lander to the ground stations was lost. Data is being analysed.''
Many celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Saina Nehwal, Kamal Haasan and more, took to social media to boost morale of ISRO scientists after Chandryaan-2 lost contact with Vikram Lander.
Shah Rukh Khan wrote, ''Sometimes we don’t land or arrive at the destination we want to. The important thing is we took off and had the Hope and Belief we can. Our current situation is never and not our final destination. That always comes in time and belief! Proud of #ISRO.''

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday asked ISRO scientists not to get disheartened by the hurdles in the moon mission Chandrayaan-2 and asserted that there will be a "new dawn".
Addressing the scientists hours after ISRO announced that it had lost communication with the lander, he also said that the country's determination to land on the moon has become even stronger."We came very close, but we need to cover more ground.... Learnings from today will make us stronger and better," he told the scientists, adding, "The best is yet to come in our space programme. India is with you.’’
