Goa Police has filed a charge sheetagainst pop singer Remo Fernandes in connection with a verbal abuse case filed against him last year.
Agassaim police had filed FIR against the singer after the girl, who was allegedly knocked down by a car driven by Remo'sson, had complained that she was verbally abused.
"A case under section 8 (for verbally abusing a minor) of Goa Children's Act was filed against Remo. We have presented the charge sheet to the court on December 1," police inspector Uday Parab said.
On December 2 last year, the girl, a native of Malvantaluka in Maharashtra, was walking towards old Goa to complete her vow to St Francis Xavier, a patron saint whose Church is situated there, was allegedly hit by a car driven by Remo'sson Jonah.
The girl, who was admitted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, filed a police complaint that Remo had verbally abused her after visiting the ward where she was being treated.
